On Thursday, March 19, the 15th Francophonie Day was held in the Santa Marta lecture hall. It was an intense and engaging event dedicated this year to the complex concept of Queeritude and how “queer philosophies” intersect and transform Francophone literatures and cultures.
The event was directed by Rosanna Gorris Camos and organized by Valeria Averoldi and Vera Gajiu.
Building on the legacy of the Stonewall riots, the event explored the intersections of language and identity, emphasizing how resisting dominant paradigms subverts social norms through writing. Lastly, the discussions highlighted how linguistic and discursive practices evolve to give voice to new forms of artistic and performative activism.
