In the second week of May, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literaures hosted Prof. Tamar Sukhishvili (Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia). Prof. Sukhishvili, the second Georgian professor hosted this year as part of the Erasmus+ faculty mobility program, taught a course on the theme of “Language and Culture”, comparing metaphors and connotative meanings of animals and body parts in various languages.
Tamar Sukhishvili began working at Ilia State University in Tbilisi (Georgia) in 2010. Since 2013, she has been an associate professor at the university. Her research interests include linguistics, language and culture, stylistics, classics, and translation.
