On Tuesday, 2 July, at 5:30 PM, the first meeting of the “Food Talks” series will take place in Aula SMT.09 at the Polo Santa Marta (Via Cantarane 24). This series, conceived and curated by Chiara Battisti and Sidia Fiorato, explores the role of food and the culinary traditions of various cultures in world literature.
The inaugural talk, presented by Dr. Anmol Deep Singh, will compare Indian and American cultures through the lens of food, examining the act of eating and sharing, with a focus on Anita Desai’s novel Fasting, Feasting. The discussion will be followed by a themed aperitif for participants.
These meetings are open to the public and aim to promote dialogue and social inclusion within the community.
