On Wednesday, 06 November, the press conference for Festivabìlia – Theatre of Potential Abilities 2024 was held in Palazzo Giuliari. The festival will take place at the Camploy theatre and other university spaces from November 08 to December 04 and it is organized by Teatro a Rotelle, the university theatre company, and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and is sponsored by the City of Verona and the ESU of Verona.
Festivabìlia, now in its second edition, offers shows and events that draw inspiration from stories and experiences that are apparently distant from each other, but which promote the concept of inclusion by widening its space, broadening the preconceived and limiting idea of disability as a physical deficiency to a any form of deficiency, loss or variation at a psychological, physical, anatomical or social level.
Attending the press conference were: the City of Verona councilors Elisa La Paglia, Giorgio Gugole for l’ESU Verona. The initiative was presented by Roberta Facchinetti, director of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Massimo Salgaro, project manager for the Excellence Project “Inclusive Humanities”, Manuel Boschiero, inclusion and accessibility coordinator for the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Nicoletta Vicentini, director, and Viviana Veronesi, vicepresident of the association Teatro a rotelle.
All Festivabìlia events, available at this link, are free of charge and fully accessible, featuring LIS (Italian Sign Language) translation and audio description.
