Ibrahima Diagne arrives in Verona with UNITAFRICA

Massimo Salgaro e Ibrahimine Diagne

A warm welcome to Ibrahima Diagne, Visiting Professor from the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (Senegal). Prof. Diagne, welcomed to our department by Massimo Salgaro, is funded by the UNITAFRICA project of the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

The goal of UNITAFRICA is to strengthen academic cooperation between Italy and Africa, promoting the quality and effectiveness of higher education systems within a framework of mutual exchange. Prof. Diagne’s teaching and research program focuses primarily on intercultural communication, migration writing, and autobiographical narratives within the Afro-German context, as well as the poetics of postcolonialism, post-migration, decoloniality, and transculturality. These activities align perfectly with the objectives of the “Inclusive Humanities” Excellence Project of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Verona, which aims to understand and promote the overcoming of gender, economic, social, and cultural disparities that affect how the world is perceived both inside and outside the university.
