The event featured Professor Valentina Nider (University of Bologna), who delivered a talk entitled <em data-start=\"269\" data-end=\"349\">\u201c<\/em><strong>Genealogies and Futures: New Perspectives for Literature and Gender Studies<\/strong><em data-start=\"269\" data-end=\"349\">.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"806\">The meeting explored the vibrant ferment of female voices that, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Spain, courageously challenged traditional institutions in order to claim emancipation and independence. Particular attention was devoted to the luminous figure of <strong>Emilia Pardo Baz\u00e1n<\/strong>, an intellectual and journalist who became a true beacon for her contemporaries, including Carmen de Burgos \u201cColombine,\u201d <strong>\u00c1ngeles Vicente<\/strong>, and Mar\u00eda Lej\u00e1rraga.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"1043\">The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to delve into two fundamental texts recently translated within the series \u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/amsacta.unibo.it\/view\/series\/Genealogie_e_futuri.html\">Genealogie e futuri<\/a>&#8220;,\u00a0an open-access resource of the University of Bologna curated by Valentina Nider:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1250\">\n<li data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1156\">\n<p data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1156\"><em data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1068\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/amsacta.unibo.it\/id\/eprint\/8251\/\">La donna spagnola<\/a>\u201d<\/em> by Emilia Pardo Baz\u00e1n, with introduction and translation by Francesca Peretto (2025).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1250\">\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1250\"><em data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1167\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/amsacta.unibo.it\/id\/eprint\/8283\/\">Zez\u00e9<\/a>\u201d<\/em> by \u00c1ngeles Vicente, with introduction and translation by Vincenzo Quaranta (2025).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1639\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The event took place with the participation of Francesca Peretto, Vincenzo Quaranta, and Stefano Bazzaco, who helped enrich the discussion.
